Do you enjoy getting creative and learning about the past? If so then the Abbey Strand art club could be just for you. Each session we will explore special objects or spaces before using the Abbey Strand Centre as our artist studio to get creative and make masterpieces to take home.
Make your own seed box – Saturday 13 May
Explore the Physic Garden with your sketch-pad and unearth some surprising tales. Use your findings as inspiration to decorate your own seed box to take home.
Palace Portraits –Saturday 15 July
Visit the Palace to explore some famous portraits and discover clothing of the past. Return to our artist studio in the Abbey Strand Centre to create your own portrait.
Courtier’s Induction Day – Saturday 11 November
Join us in the Abbey Strand Centre and step back in time to the court of Mary, Queen of Scots. Discover some surprising fashions and curious objects as you explore what life was like in Mary’s court. Make your own pomander and paper ruff to take home.
Christmas Decorations – Saturday 2 December
Visit the Palace to see the beautiful Christmas decorations and discover some Christmas stories before returning to the Abbey Strand Centre to make your own Christmas tree decoration.
Suitable for children 7-12 years old accompanied by a parent or carer.
