Join Fiona Johnston, audio describer, as she describes various artwork from the Royal Collection at the Palace of Holyroodhouse. These sessions offer the chance to explore the paintings in a calm environment and discover the stories behind them.
This session is suitable for blind and partially sighted audiences as well as visitors who wish to explore historic artworks in a mindful way.
23 February- 'Charles II' by John by Michael Wright described in the Throne Room.
30 March- 'Arrival of the King' by David Wilkie described at the bottom of the Great Stair.
27 April- 'Queen Victoria' by George Haytor described in the Throne Room.
11 May- 'George IV' by David Wilkie described in the Throne Room.
15 June- 'James VI' by Paul Van Somer described in the Throne Room.
28 September- 'Prince enters the Ballroom' by John Pettie described in the lobby.
26 October- 'The Infant Hercules Strangling Serpents' by Jacob De Wet described in the King's Bedchamber.
30 November- 'Fergus' by Jacob De Wet described in the Great Gallery
14 December- 'Mary, Queen of Scots' by Jacob De Wet described in the Great Gallery
