About A Fairie Tale
Interpreting Scotland
A brand new and original piece of storytelling from Niall Moorjani, directed by Minnie Wilkinson, with videography by India Moorjani and dramaturgy by Sanjay Lago. The show explores Scottish race and gender identities through a medieval inspired landscape, reimagining the folk classic Thomas the Rhymer. Set to live cello music from Diana Redgrave, expect an evening of strangeness, sexy fairies and swearing. This is storytelling at its experimental best.
Interpreting Scotland is a series of new work commissioned for this year's Scottish International Storytelling Festival, exploring how Scotland shapes its sense of self in this period of change. Creatives within and beyond the storytelling community challenge and shape stories that matter for Scotland - past, present and future.
