Poly Styrene: I Am Cliché (2021) + Paul Sng Q&A

About Poly Styrene: I Am Cliché (2021) + Paul Sng Q&A

Poly Styrene was one of the iconic vocalist and performers of the late-1970s punk scene. Fronting the band X-Ray Spex her idiosyncratic vocal style and unique fashion sensibilities elevated the band to the very vanguard of the new music scene. Celeste Bell, developing on work she had covered in a book co-written with Zoe Howe, creates a portrait of her mother as a complex and conflicted individual, upon whom fame and celebrity did not sit at all comfortably.

Co-director Paul Sng (Sleaford Mods - Invisible Britain, Little Warrior) will join us to do a short introduction to the film and participate in a Q&A about this collaboration.

Notes: (12) strong language throughout, moderate sex references and drug use
