The LCA is once again very proud of organising the most colourful canal event of the year...!
Beautifully decorated boats will be entering Edinburgh at nightfall on Saturday 9th of Nov 2024.
Musicians will be on the boats for entertaining the crowds...
The boats will start passing harrison Park at 6.30pm, and the head of the procession will reach the Leamington lift bridge around 7.15pm.
The display will last about 45 minutes where about 18 boats will pass slowly in front of the public.
The public is invited to stand by the side of the Canal to cheer the passing boats.
People holding a lantern will receive treats from the boats...!
Important notes to the public;
Since the boats will be moving slowly and the display will be identical all the way along the canal, we strongly advise the public to spread along on the canal banks between Harrison Park and the Leamington lift bridge to avoid overcrowding at Harrison Park.
Please note that because of the proximity with water and the darkness, it is the responsibility of parents to keep an eye on their children during the event.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
