In this 3 hour workshop, you will learn to make paper beads, butterflies and other delicate shapes for your very own paper jewellery collection. This could consist of rings, necklaces, corsages, bracelets or fascinators, making use of a range of jewellery accessories available during the workshop.
Discarded book and magazine pages, scraps of tissue and wrapping paper, thin card; all of these can be creatively reused into lasting and treasured personal keepsakes.
The first hour of the workshop will be focused on making a design with the tutor’s guidance. We encourage participants to have a think about the shapes and styles of jewellery you like in order to make something to your tastes (or to the tastes of someone else if you’re making jewellery pieces as a gift!).
You will be offered support and guidance every step of the way, selecting materials to use that will best fit your design and style of jewellery. The remaining couple of hours will focus on bringing your design to life!
This workshop with Edinburgh paper and book artist Isabell Buenz offers a fun and relaxing experience for all abilities and anybody with an interest in upcycling and art.
What you’ll need to bring – We provide all materials, however if you’d like to bring your own discarded book, magazine pages, scraps of tissue and wrapping paper, thin card please do so.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
