Returning for its 11th edition, IberoDocs Festival will take place across Edinburgh, Glasgow and new city Dundee from 10th-28th September.
Celebrating the cultures of Latin America, Spain and Portugal through powerful documentaries, this year’s programme of features and shorts are connected by the themes of searching and the sea, speaking of identity, belonging, fluidity and transformation.
Whether rooted in family, memory or the restless tide of the sea, these films invite us to listen closely. From untold histories to personal awakenings, they span borders, generations and shorelines to explore the unseen threads that shape who we are – and who we might become. This includes a new environmental strand, The Sea, focusing this year on the perspectives of female filmmakers.
Join us for three inspiring weeks of screenings, exhibitions, workshops, live music and conversations with Ibero-American artists. This year’s screenings and events, includes six Scottish premieres, two UK premieres and the international premiere of María la Portuguesa.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
