About A Walk in a Walled Garden
Every Saturday and Sunday Granton Castle Walled Garden is open to visitors for a couple of hours in the afternoon.
Granton Castle itself once stood on Edinburgh's shoreline. It was built in the 15th Century, renovated in the 17th Century and demolished in the 20th Century, but the original Walled Garden and doocot survived through the centuries.
The garden is now managed by a volunteer community group who are working towards making this unusual, beautiful and tranquil place productive once more and accessible to all.
