About Planetarium Nights with Gaia
Luke Jerram's Gaia, a spectacular sculpture of Earth, will be floating majestically in the main entrance area of Dynamic Earth, marking its first appearance in the Scottish Capital.
Enjoy Gaia by night with a relaxing drink before taking in one of our magnificent planetarium shows. We are excited to bring you our BRAND NEW presenter-led show, You Are Here in a special 50 minute edition! There will also be time to talk to one of our resident astronomers afterwards! We will also be showing Planets 360, a re-imagining of British composer Gustav Holst's The Planets orchestral suite - fusing art, music and science into a 360-degree spectacle!
Our bar will be open throughout the night so you can sit back, relax, and experience these films like never before!

Come with us on a dramatic journey to the very edge of our solar system and back. In real-time we'll be seeing the boundaries of human exploration and following in the footsteps of some very special space missions. Our space-cruise is a chance for some cosmic perspective in this topsy-turvy time and also a handy wee reminder that: You. Are. Here. There will be time to chat with our resident astronomers after the show too!
PLANETS 360
20:30 (55 minutes)
The Planets 360 is a re-imagining of British composer Gustav Holst's The Planets orchestral suite. It uses the awe-inspiring fulldome format to create a sonically driven and immersive experience. The show aims to bring new audiences to the planetarium by fusing art, music and science into a 360-degree spectacle!
