Proposed and Seconded: The Royal Scottish Academy Nomination Books of the 1920s
The 1920s Nomination Books for membership of the Royal Scottish Academy provide a unique insight into the Scottish art world of the decade. This talk will focus on the women artists proposed and seconded for election by male allies, including Dorothy Johnstone, Cecile Walton and John Duncan. Alice Strang is an award-winning Art Historian and Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art. She has a particular interest in twentieth-century Scottish women artists.
