Lecture: Earls, Maids, Dames and Gardeners: Highlights of the Museums & Galleries Edinburgh Costume Collection
Vicky Garrington shares some key pieces from Edinburgh Museums & Galleries large and important costume collection. Recent projects to re-pack historic costume and conserve an 18th century dress will be explored, together with recent research and forthcoming projects Vicky Garrington has been Curator: History with Museums & Galleries Edinburgh for ten years. She specialises in costume and wartime collections, but has responsibility for a wide range of objects from domestic appliances to protest material. Vicky previously managed the archive of the Air Force Museum of New Zealand. She is interested in material culture and connecting people through objects, and is a collector of contemporary studio pottery.
