Six by Nico, the conceptual dining experience which rotates its creative menu every six weeks, has announced the details of its next innovative tasting menu ‘Tokyo’. Cooking from this week; 2nd – 22nd September, this menu transports guests to the vibrant streets of the Japanese capital, a bustling hub of unique culture and cuisine.
The concept will be on offer across all Six by Nico restaurants in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh. The Tokyo menu is a true representation of Six By Nico’s unique curation of affordable tasting menus and how its dining concept has evolved over time. Tokyo transformed the way the restaurant’s chefs developed new menus after experiencing firsthand the simple yet impactful dishes of the city, along with new cooking techniques for traditional Japanese dishes.
Taking inspiration from the diverse range of dishes that Japan has to offer, the menu will take diners on a culinary adventure and transport them to the stunning Sakura tree-lined streets of Tokyo and returns by popular demand having scored 4.9 by the restaurant’s guests when it was first concepted in 2023. Andrew Temple, Chief Creative Officer commented on the menu: “Our trip to Tokyo was particularly inspiring for myself and Nico. We knew the food would be extraordinary but from the traditional Chicken Karaage we devoured late upon arrival at 3am, to our dining experience at Michelin star restaurant Sushi Dai, it exceeded our every expectation.
“We were fortunate enough to experience the city from a chef's perspective, and in just three days it totally transformed the way we were able to think about how we create our menus. This menu is one that we feel really stands out as a favourite for both our teams and our customers. If there's one menu I would encourage people to experience, it would without a doubt be Tokyo. The six-course menu is one of care, attention and embodies our three-day trip to Japan in just six-courses.”
Six by Nico caters to all dietary requirements, offering a full vegetarian menu for each new menu concept. Plus, customers can swap courses from the meat menu to the veggie alternative, if they wish. Other dietaries and certain allergens can also be catered to upon request, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the best possible dining experience.
