Team Mouat has joined forces with the country’s only Scotch malt whisky cream liqueur brand, Magnum, to unveil the new festive pop-up being staged throughout Christmas and Hogmanay.
The ‘Magnum Apres Ski Terrace’ will offer stunning views of Edinburgh Castle and a magical setting to raise a glass to the festive season with family and friends.
Hundreds of sparkling Christmas lights will illuminate a specially crafted Santa sleigh, giant Magnum bottle Christmas tree, as well as fur blankets and cushions to keep people cosy on dark winter evenings.
The team of mixologists at Cold Town House have also created a choice of three Christmas cocktails with Magnum to help keep guests warm from the inside out this winter, including ‘The Night Before Christmas’, ‘Polar Express’ and ‘Baby It’s Cold Outside’.
The innovative drinks brand is now the only cream liqueur exclusively crafted and bottled in Scotland using single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside, so people are able to raise a glass to the nation's only Baileys rival.
Magnum Director Lee Schofield said:
“We’re so excited to have Team Mouat launch our new Apres Ski Terrace at Edinburgh’s Cold Town this Christmas. They’re an amazing group of guys who really embody the spirit of our nation and we think they’re the perfect ambassadors to represent the Magnum brand.
“We’ve gone the extra mile to create a magical winter wonderland for people to celebrate the festive season with family and friends. As well as getting the chance to enjoy Magnum in the stunning backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, hundreds of sparkling Christmas lights will illuminate our special Santa sleigh and giant Magnum bottle Christmas tree to help people capture those perfect moments on Instagram or TikTok.”
Since winning the World and European Championships earlier this year, Team Mouat has been snapped up by Magnum as the official faces of the brand for 2023. Led by Edinburgh-born skipper, Bruce Mouat, the team of four men also took home the silver medal at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing.
Bruce Mouat, added:
“As Scotland’s world champion curling team, we’re proud to be working with a true Scottish brand like Magnum this festive season.
“Edinburgh is my hometown, so there’s no better place to be taking Christmas to new heights in the heart of Scotland’s capital city than the rooftop bar of Cold Town House with its fantastic views of Edinburgh Castle.
“We’d like to thank all our fans for their continued support and wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.”
Magnum is a fusion of single malt Scotch whisky and cream. Its superior ingredients and contemporary design sets it apart from traditional liqueurs. Smooth, creamy caramel notes play off single malt Speyside whisky for a balanced taste with a warming ginger afterglow.
Magnum is contained in a unique, stainless steel flask, which is designed to be reusable and recyclable. It also keeps the liqueur chilled at the optimum temperature, without the need for ice.
The new ‘Magnum Apres Ski Terrace’ is now open seven days a week from 11.30am until late on the rooftop bar of Cold Town House, 4 Grassmarket, Edinburgh, EH1 2JU. Closed Christmas Day only.
