• The market will include 26 stalls of local vendors
• From every Eve dessert sold, £1 goes to charity, Free Cakes for Kids
• A special, festive brunch in Eve includes musical performances by local DJs, Rosa Belles and DJ Benchy
Virgin Hotels Edinburgh is giving locals and visitors a unique Christmas shopping experience this year with their inaugural Christmas Market.
On the 10th of December, from 11 am to 4 pm, the hotel is partnering with Support the Makers – an organisation that supports independent businesses and local makers by giving them a platform to share their creations at regular events across Scotland.
Virgin Hotels Edinburgh’s beautifully restored Victorian Church, Greyfriars Hall, provides a perfect background for such festive fare. The Christmas Market will include 26 stalls from local, independent artisans, makers, and businesses, including Edinburgh’s Grace Cooper Creative, Glasgow based Facet Leathercraft and Raven Botanicals' Botanical Skincare based in East Lothian. The event is free to attend, inviting guests to explore a variety of stalls to find that perfect gift for a special someone this Christmas.
And that’s not all! The festive atmosphere continues through to Eve, the hotel’s all-day dining and entertainment venue, where guests will be able to enjoy chestnut roasting with a glass of warming mulled cider in the sheltered courtyard. For every dessert sold in Eve, £1 goes towards Free Cakes for Kids, which supports families who have difficulty providing a cake to mark special occasions for children.
Guests can also enjoy an extra special festive brunch. Expect a cornucopia of fresh Scottish seafood, oysters, prawns, and smoked fish piled high. With Charcuterie meats, the finest cheeses and homemade pancakes and waffles. All this along with hot brunch dishes fresh from the kitchen.
Entertainment will include the harmonised sounds of the Rosa Belles blasting out Christmas classics and DJ Benchy, with a festive soundtrack of funk, soul, and disco tunes, set to get everyone into the party spirit.

Mafalda Albuquerque, General Manager, Virgin Hotels Edinburgh said: "There is no better way to kick off festivities than with a Christmas Market. This year, Virgin Hotels Edinburgh is partnering with Support the Makers to host its very own Christmas Market in the beautiful Greyfriars Hall. It's a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, support local businesses, and get in the Christmas spirit.
“The market will be open from 11am to 4pm on 10th of December, giving guests time to explore the festive offerings and find some special Christmas gifts.
“Virgin Hotels Edinburgh’s all day dining venue Eve will play host to an array of exciting activities, from our new festive brunch menu to chestnut roasting, there’s something for everyone. And of course, we are thrilled to support our selected charity, Free Cakes for Kids.”
