RING IN THE NEW YEAR IN STYLE WITH VIRGIN HOTELS EDINBURGH AS IT BRINGS NOT ONE, BUT THREE PARTIES TO THE CAPITAL

• Greyfriars Hall will be hosting a Hogmanay Ball, featuring ceilidh dancing, a sumptuous 4-course dinner and bubbles at midnight

• Offering a fine-dining Hogmanay, Commons Club is serving up 5-courses of exceptional seasonal produce followed by the city’s best view of the fireworks from the hotel’s rooftop

• Eve is bringing the party with an unmissable DJ set and sax performance from 10pm till late

Taking place across three different locations within the hotel, there’s a party for every vibe, with a DJ and sax set in Eve, a Hogmanay Ball featuring a live ceilidh band and a 4-course meal in Greyfriars Hall and a 5-course fine dining menu in Commons Club, complete with a private rooftop viewing of the city’s famous fireworks display.

Offering up the ultimate New Year’s Eve experience, the Hogmanay Ball which is taking place in Greyfriars Hall, a beautifully restored gothic church, will give guests the chance to bring in the New Year like a true Scot. Starting at 7pm with a champagne reception and canapes, followed by a 4-course dinner with wine pairing, the menu, which was especially created for the event, celebrates the best of Scottish cuisine. Guests can expect a menu of Belhaven smoked salmon, Roasted Scottish beef, Winter barley risotto and a Scottish Drambuie cranachan. Post dinner, guests can then let their hair down with traditional ceilidh dancing played by the live band. As the clock reaches midnight, a glass of champagne will be served to ring in the new year, followed by a tempting selection of late night snacks.

Those looking for a spectacular start to their New Year can book Commons Club’s exclusive Hogmanay event. Set within Commons Club Restaurant, Virgin Hotels take on a modern-day social club, guests will be able to enjoy an instrumental set by jazz and funk duo, Sapphire Notion, whilst enjoying a five-course menu specially curated by Chef de Cuisine Emma Hanley. The fine-dining menu will feature high quality local produce, including Scottish Lobster, a Comte tartlet, Veal, Chestnut gnocchi and a selection of Scotland’s finest cheeses. And that’s not all, guests will have exclusive access to Virgin Hotels Edinburgh’s private rooftop at midnight to enjoy an unrivalled view of the capital’s iconic firework display with a glass of bubbles in hand. Running from 8pm to midnight, it’s the perfect evening to see in the bells in style.

Eve, the hotel’s all-day dining and entertainment destination, will be providing the ultimate party, with unmissable DJ and sax sets by DJ Ross Hislop and Nathaniel Carter. Starting from 10pm and lasting until the early hours, guests will be dancing their way into the new year whilst enjoying festive cocktails that have been specially concocted by the bar’s team of expert mixologists.

Virgin Hotels Edinburgh has also taken the stress out of finding somewhere to stay during the busy weekend of celebrations, offering 2-night residential packages for guests to ensure they don’t miss out on any of the party. The special offer includes complimentary breakfast on New Year’s Eve, two tickets to the Hogmanay Ball as well as a New Year’s Day brunch with live entertainment in Eve. On New Year’s Eve there will also be special musical performances taking place throughout the hotel for guests to enjoy, with AlbaMusica String Trio performing on the Link Bridge and harpist Dara Watson in the Oculus.

Whether looking to dance the night away or enjoy a menu of the best produce Scotland has to offer, Virgin Hotels Edinburgh is hosting the ultimate Hogmanay extravaganza you won’t want to miss. Tickets for the Hogmanay parties are available to purchase HERE.

Mafalda Albuquerque, General Manager at Virgin Hotels Edinburgh, said: “There’s no night quite like New Year’s Eve and Virgin Hotels Edinburgh will be pulling out all the stops to offer the ultimate party. From dancing in Eve and Greyfriars to a delectable dinner in Commons Club, there’s something for everyone.

“Celebrate Hogmanay in true Scottish style with great food, champagne, and live music right in the heart of the capital. There’s no better place to be and we hope you can join us to toast to 2024.”
