Monday 20th March - Saturday 25th March 2023
‘Waffle Week’ will showcase everything from the restaurant's top-selling namesake to a slate of new offerings inspired by Culinary Director Daniel Barbosa and Executive Chef Lucia Gregusova.
Leading up to International Waffle Day, Saturday 25th March, Duck & Waffle’s ‘Waffle Week’ will capture the joy of waffles from breakfast to lunch, to dinner and beyond.
“We look forward to introducing one of our favourite culinary celebrations to Scotland,” says Culinary Director Daniel Barbosa. ‘Duck & Waffle is the home of the waffle, and this is our time to show Edinburgh why!”
Breakfast fans can kick off their day with a wide array of traditional morning favourites prepared ‘a la waffle’ including the savoury GREEN EGGS & HAM” CROQUE MADAME with spinach, Parma ham, Gruyère and duck egg; vegetarian EGGS FLORENTINE with poached eggs, spinach, hollandaise and lemon zest or the classic DUCK BENEDICT complete with smoked duck breast, poached eggs, hollandaise, sriracha. For those with a sweet tooth, the DEEP-FRIED MARS BAR with hazelnut ice cream & sweetmeat fudge sauce will satisfy all the cravings.
Lunch & Dinner guests will indulge in new creations inspired by traditional desserts — each crafted with a Duck & Waffle twist. Highlights include the CRANACHAN WAFFLE, inspired by the Scottish favourite, and topped with creamy oats, raspberry compote and raspberry sorbet; the indulgent FUDGE CAKE WAFFLE with white chocolate and tanka mousse, cherry compote, chocolate sauce; the signature ‘THE FULL ELVIS’ with PBJ, caramelised banana, Chantilly and all the trimmings; and the LEMON MERINGUE made with lemon curd, Italian meringue, lemon sorbet, and dill.
This year’s Waffle Week experience comes full circle with the WAFFLE ON THE ROCKS cocktail and its rich and comforting aromatics of maple syrup, inviting the nostalgia of childhood and cosy mornings with friends and family.
