This Mother’s Day, why not treat mum to a visit to one of Scotland’s most historic hotels? Maryculter House is a four-star luxury hotel in Aberdeenshire, steeped in history and nestled on the banks of the River Dee, boasting stunning views accompanied by excellent food using seasonal and local ingredients.
This Mother’s Day, Maryculter House are offering an afternoon tea in collaboration with Hendricks Gin, in their beautiful Templar Suite. With bookings from 1pm, guests can enjoy a selection of sandwiches, savouries, sweet treats, teas, coffees and cocktails - to the soundtrack of live music from local singer Stephen McPhee - for just £30 per person or £10 per child. Mum will also get a gift to take home.

With spectacular views over sandy beaches, islands and the world-famous Old Course golf links, this will be a chance to escape the city and reconnect as a family in a quaint seaside town. Inaugural winner of MasterChef the Professionals, Derek Johnstone, has created a delicious Sunday roast menu of sharing dishes in the rooftop restaurant, 18, at Rusacks St Andrews. Perfect for treating mum and the rest of the family, their Sunday menu features a spoiling selection of starters and lighter mains, as well as their take on the classic roast lunch. Diners can expect bloody Mary’s, dressed Cumbrae Rock oysters, roast rump of scotch beef with Yorkshire pudding, robata grill roots, beef fat roast potatoes and pan gravy.

Marine Troon, Executive Chef Ryan Marshall and his team will be preparing a very special Sunday roast and afternoon tea served in The Rabbit Restaurant.
The Seal is the sister bar to The Rabbit restaurant. Named after Royal Troon’s opening hole, which you can see from the bar, The Seal is a relaxed, come-as-you-are establishment, offering a broad range of bespoke and classic cocktails, fine wines, and specialty beers. The menus are led by Rusacks St Andrews’ Executive Chef and MasterChef: The Professionals winner, Derek Johnstone, showcasing hyper-seasonal ingredients and local suppliers from Ayrshire and across Scotland.
Marine North Berwick
After a walk along North Berwick beach, the whole family can sit down to a Sunday lunch prepared by David Haetzman and his team. Any bookings for afternoon tea in the month of March will have a complimentary upgrade to a champagne afternoon tea to enjoy as a Mother’s day treat. The Lawn restaurant will be offering a Sunday Lunch menu served with highlights including crispy tempura oysters, seabass ceviche, roast rump of dry aged scotch beef with roast potatoes, vegetables, gravy and Yorkshire pudding.
