Popular Edinburgh-based New York-style pizza slice bars, Civerinos Slice, are partnering with five of the capitals’ prominent independent chefs, restaurants and street food vendors to bring brand new and exciting flavour combinations to its customers over the next five months.
The brand new initiative will bring together a collection of usually competing food and drink businesses for the first time and showcase the culinary talent within the capital.
Civerinos Slice is a New York-style pizza slice bar that’s part of the Civerinos Food club restaurant group. Civerinos Slice specializes in New York-style pizza but the group is known for an authentic, fresh yet progressive approach to the Italian dining experience.
The first collaboration will be with Edinburgh’s leading independent bar and butchery, Chop House. Running from 29th – 31st January the collaboration will see Chop House’s 38-day dry-aged beef feature on Civerinos’ New York-style pizza.
Special additions to the menu will include Chop House’s 35-day dry-aged rump steak with Chop House’s signature chimichurri and coal-roasted peppers and Chop House’s 35-day dry-aged rump steak with burrata, pink pickled onions and heritage tomatoes. A number of limited edition sides will also be hitting the menu.
In the coming months, Civerinos Slice will also be collaborating with fried chicken experts, King’s Chicken and Central Texas-style BBQ, Smiddy BBQ.
Managing Director of Civerinos Slice, Michele Civiera, said:
“In the first of the Civerinos Slice collaboration series, showcasing our friends surviving in the food industry right now, we’re teaming up with our long time butcher wonders, Chop House. We wanted to see what their 38-day dry-aged beef and general butchery skills would look like when applied to New York-style pizza.
“Love thy neighbourhood is our motto and community is at the heart of everything we do and it has never been more important to come together and support one another. Our new campaign is a way for us to bring together our friends within the industry and create something special to keep us all going through these tough times.
“We can’t wait to open our first collaboration on Friday 29th January. Keep an eye on our social media as we will be revealing more details of our upcoming collaborations very soon.”
Civerinos is also a member of the new Taste Edinburgh campaign, which is bringing together some of the biggest names in Edinburgh’s hospitality industry for the first time to promote the capital’s independent and family-owned restaurants during the coronavirus pandemic, including home delivery, cook at home recipes and gift vouchers. Other members include Tom Kitchin, Martin Wishart and Carina Contini, as well as the Signature Group (Cold Town House, McLarens on The Corner), The Broughton, The Witchery and Prestonfield House Hotel.
