With pubs and venues remaining closed, getting together with friends and family in front of the screen has quickly become the new norm but as any quizmaster knows, coming up with new questions can be tricky especially after six weeks of quarantine quizzes. A conundrum recognised by Google Trends, with searches for ‘pub quiz questions UK’ up 710%.
In recognition of this, the team behind Scotland’s favourite pint have created PinTless, a free service to help people become the master of their own quizzes.
The new platform features a bank of questions comprised of seven different themes including staples like general knowledge, music and sport as well as some Tennent’s inspired questions thrown in to challenge the biggest of fans. All questions will be updated weekly on a Friday and users will have the option to pick a ready-made quiz or create a customised version using the themed packs.
Those using the service, will also receive a unique link with their quiz details to easily invite friends and family to participate via email, Whatsapp or text.
Commenting, Kat MacBride, digital communications manager for Tennent’s, said: “With people unable to see friends and family in person, virtual-catch ups have made a big difference these past couple of months.
“A lot of planning goes into creating a quiz and after six weeks it can be difficult to find new questions, so we wanted to take the hard work out of hosting. With over 70 new questions each week, there will be something for everyone including a few one-off questions from special guests thrown into the mix.
“There’s loads of virtual quizzes popping up but there’s nothing quite like a pub quiz with family and friends like you’d have at your local. PinTless aims to make it easier for people to recreate that pub quiz spirit in their own home while they can’t get out to their favourite venue.”
