A crafter/maker and qualified horticulturalist, I work with and have a passion for all things ferns and love to grow and preserve these delicate botanicals under glass.
Come and join our friendly, small-group studio sessions and create your own timeless botanical art with prepressed fern specimens mounted under glass. You will take away a beautiful, completed artwork to hang in your home or to give as a gift. You will have a choice of different species of ferns, and you will learn how to arrange and mount ferns with a Latin label and preserve them under glass.
Ferns are sustainably grown in my garden and allotment. All materials are included plus a cuppa. I use recycled wood and glass frames for the sessions. Frame sizes vary between 15-30 × 15-30 cm.
Sandport Studio is a crafty, creative space accommodating individuals, small groups or group bookings in the Shore area, Leith. Workshops are suitable for adults. Further sessions with pressed ferns will be available soon. It's a small studio, so places are limited per session.
