Edinburgh's oldest bookshop is situated right in the heart of the Old Town. On our three floors you will find anything from the latest bestseller to university textbooks. Visit our Scottish Room for the best selection of Scottish books in the city!
Blackwell currently has over 250 000 titles in stock, a figure that is continually growing as our major departments flourish throughout the year. Our range of books covers everything from american history to pop art, scottish fiction to medical texts, childrens to travel as well as many many more departments that are availale within our 3 floors.
We also have available a varied programme of events that we offer either within the store or in a variety of venues throughout Edinburgh. Some of our past successes and future programs include such names as Alasdair Gray, Lee Child, Gillian Galbraith, Sophie Cooke, Alanna Knight, Steven Pinker, James Meek, Andrew O'Hagan, Martin Clunes and Vic Reeves, in addition to numerous others.
