Lost Shore bus route goes public, opening doors to free NEC travel
Lost Shore Surf Resort has confirmed that a regular public bus route has now been registered between the resort and Edinburgh city centre, provided by bus operator, Ember.

Lost Shore Surf Resort has confirmed that its popular Surf Bus between the resort and Edinburgh city centre is now a fully registered public bus service operated by Ember.
Following a successful trial as a private shuttle, the route has now been officially registered and is now part of Ember’s wider network.
The change means passengers can book directly via Ember’s website, access updated service times, and track their bus live using Ember’s digital platform.
Crucially, as a registered public service, the route is now eligible for free travel under Scotland’s National Entitlement Card (NEC) scheme. Anyone aged under 22 or over 60 can travel free using their NEC card.
The all-electric Ember service provides a direct, low-carbon public transport link between Lost Shore and Edinburgh city centre, supporting sustainable travel to the resort and enhancing connectivity in west Edinburgh.
Mark Stewart, Estates Director of Lost Shore Surf Resort, said: “Following a successful trial of our private shuttle service, we’re thrilled that Ember has now registered the route as an official public service.
“Visitors can now book directly with Ember, track their journey live, and those eligible for free bus travel can use their NEC card.
“Improving sustainable access to Lost Shore has always been a priority, and this is a major step forward.”
All Surf Bus information and bookings are now available via Ember’s website www.ember.to
Passengers are advised to check updated service times before travelling.
