EGYM Hussle and Edinburgh Leisure have entered a long-term partnership arrangement, which will see 17 Edinburgh Leisure-managed gym venues added to its market-leading UK fitness marketplace.
With fantastic venues situated all across the city, including popular locations such as the iconic Royal Commonwealth Pool, the recently redeveloped Meadowbank Sports Centre and Edinburgh International Climbing Arena, this represents a significant growth opportunity for the corporate fitness market in Scotland’s capital.
Edinburgh Leisure’s venues will become available to EGYM Hussle’s B2B member base, consisting of employees at companies who invest in the wellness of their staff and the customers of healthcare providers (such as AXA Health and Bupa) who provide subsidised fitness access as part of their overall offering.
The collaboration aims to drive increased participation in fitness, as part of EGYM Hussle’s overarching mission in the preventative healthcare space. Edinburgh Leisure’s venues join a rapidly growing network of 1,500+ UK gyms, pools and spas, including leading brands such as Nuffield Health, Village Hotels and a diverse portfolio of independent gyms, public-run leisure centres and boutique venues.
James Crossland, Director of Operations at EGYM Hussle expressed his excitement upon confirmation of the partnership: “We’re excited to be partnering with Edinburgh Leisure, with 17 of their gym venues now available across the city. As a charitable trust with a strong focus on community health, inclusion and accessibility, Edinburgh Leisure is a fantastic partner. This collaboration helps extend access to high-quality fitness facilities for more people, while supporting Edinburgh Leisure’s mission to keep Edinburgh active and well.”
Ally Strachan, Fitness Development Manager at Edinburgh Leisure, said: “This new partnership is great news for Edinburgh Leisure and helps us continue to develop the business to serve the people of Edinburgh. By providing access to our facilities for EGYM Hussle members, it will help us to extend our reach to the corporate sector. This allows us to grow our user base and generate more income, and, as a charity, we reinvest that back into our facilities. This partnership will also create the opportunity to introduce EGYM equipment in the coming months alongside other exciting fitness developments.”
Leading on EGYM Hussle’s efforts to provide flexible fitness benefits to businesses in the Edinburgh region is Matt Smith, Hussle’s Business Development Manager, who also expressed his excitement upon the launch of the Edinburgh Leisure partnership: “Edinburgh Leisure has so many first-class facilities spread across the city, and I am delighted that they will be opening up to Hussle’s growing number of corporate users. Whether Hussle members want to swim at The Commie or work out at Meadowbank, the choice is theirs. Of course, this partnership is particularly sentimental for me, having spent four years with Edinburgh Leisure myself before joining Hussle. I know, first-hand, what a fantastic fitness and wellness experience their venues can offer to Hussle users.”
The EGYM Hussle offering is becoming increasingly appealing to a full variety of fitness operators seeking to add new streams of revenue within a competitive fitness industry. Once known for its direct-to-consumer (B2C) model, Hussle has pivoted to focus exclusively on business-to-business (B2B) partnerships. This provides the venues on Hussle’s network with an incremental revenue scheme, unlocking access to additional members, whom they would not otherwise gain access to.
All of EGYM Hussle’s partner venues benefit from free marketing via a dedicated website, and in doing so, become part of a wider mission to improve health and wellbeing across the nation.
