The nation’s most iconic pizzeria brand landing at Edinburgh Airport on Wednesday 21st May, opening in partnership with franchisee Airport Retail Enterprises (ARE).
Alongside the PizzaExpress icons the nation knows and loves, diners are also set to delight in delicious breakfast creations, with the Edinburgh location just one of two of the brand’s restaurants serving a pizza-inspired breakfast menu.
Pizza fans visiting the new airport restaurant will be able to enjoy a bespoke breakfast menu, available from 4:00am until 11:00am. From new takes on favourites like Dough Balls, with the Breakfast Dough Balls & Jam offering a fresh take on the brand’s most famous dish, to breakfast pizzas including the Avo, Crushed Baby Potatoes & Egg pizza, which is also topped with chestnut mushrooms, baby plum tomatoes and a baked egg, and breakfast classics such as Smashed Avocado & Poached Eggs served on golden, freshly baked dough. Also on the menu is spiced Shakshuka Baked Eggs, a Sausage, Bacon & Egg pizza featuring crispy pancetta, along with Pancetta & Maple Syrup Pancakes, featuring American style buttermilk pancakes (in a nod to the brand’s famed American pizza, which is also available any time of the day), pizza for breakfast is truly getting the slice of approval with the opening of PizzaExpress Edinburgh.
From friends sipping on pre-flight Mimosas to dishes for the whole family – including PizzaExpress’ Piccolo breakfast menu which includes Eggs & Soldiers featuring Dough Sticks - there’s something for everyone at PizzaExpress Edinburgh. Looking to get a slice of the brand’s classic menu? From 11am, PizzaExpress fans will then be able to enjoy their beloved American Hot and Padana, salads, pastas and desserts.
The opening of Edinburgh Airport follows the successful opening of the brand’s first airport location at London Gatwick just 12 months ago. This opening is a continuation of PizzaExpress’ growth, with the brand aiming to reach 1,000 restaurants globally by 2030.
Ben Lawrence, PizzaExpress International Director, said, “We’re thrilled to be bringing our proper pizza and delicious Dough Balls to Edinburgh Airport, alongside our breakfast menu – who wouldn’t want Dough Balls with Jam to start their day? We want to ensure we’re serving up our pizzas wherever our fans are, and know travel hubs unlock even more occasions to enjoy our famous pizzas. Our team is excited to be serving up all our icons, all day, at PizzaExpress Edinburgh Airport!”
Brian Gillan, ARE Chief Operating Officer, said, “We’re delighted to be once again joining forces with PizzaExpress to bring delicious pizzas, from breakfast to dinner and everything in between, to Edinburgh Airport. After the success of London Gatwick, we’re excited to bring our partnership to Scotland during this exciting time of growth for both PizzaExpress and ARE.”
