The Lawn Restaurant at Marine North Berwick has partnered with the hugely popular Scottish Insta Dogs community and local dog boutique, NB Dogs, to host an afternoon of fun for dog owners and their furry friends at 2pm on Friday 20th May.
The ticketed event includes a meet up on the stunning golden sands of North Berwick beach for a social get together with plenty of time for owners to meet and pups to play, followed by a traditional Cream Tea expertly prepared by The Lawn’s skilled pastry team at the restaurant’s outdoor terrace.
Situated in the historic Marine North Berwick, both The Lawn Restaurant and The Bass Rock Bar and Lounge welcome well-behaved dogs, with chic interiors and relaxed service. Named after the iconic Bass Rock in the Firth of Forth, the view of which is framed by sash windows and velvet curtains. Serving an all-day-dining menu using the best local and Scottish ingredients, guests can expect light snacks and dishes such as Belhaven smoked salmon, Isle of Mull truffle mac and cheese or Tweed Valley steak frites alongside cocktails, fine wines and a wide selection spirits and soft drinks. Sarah Brion, the newly appointed head pastry chef has joined executive chef Chris Niven to create a seasonal afternoon tea of sweet and savoury bakes with loose leaf tea or champagne pairing which is served daily between 12 – 4pm in The Bass Rock Lounge.
Both the restaurant and bar offer stunning views of the green lawns and the Firth of Forth. The Lawn Restaurant menu has a focus on beef, seafood and game with menu highlights including Loch Fyne oysters, Gigha halibut and 35-day dry aged Tweed Valley sirloin steak with bearnaise. Launching the outdoor terrace this spring, visitors can order from both food and drink menus to enjoy alfresco, there’s even a putting green to practise that all important golf swing. The town of North Berwick is consistently named by The Times as one of the best places to live in the UK and the outdoor terrace will be a must visit this summer.
Nick Parry, General Manager at The Lawn said:
“We are in a prime location for dog owners to stop by for a bite to eat or a drink while exploring North Berwick. The team and I love dogs, so we are excited to start welcoming them to our outdoor terrace and bar to enjoy a well-deserved rest after strolling around the town”.
The Scottish Instagram Dogs was set up in 2018 and was created as a community to help people find local and Scottish friends with dogs to meet and connect with. The community has since grown from 100 people to almost 18,000 and hosts regular meet-up events across Scotland.
Tickets are priced at £15 per person with a charitable donation made with each purchase.
