This spring, Edinburgh will welcome a brand-new event designed for plant lovers of all kinds. GreenAF, a vibrant two-day houseplant festival, will debut at ThePitt on May 22nd and 23rd, bringing together enthusiasts, collectors, families, and eco-conscious brands for an immersive celebration of all things green.
Founded by a small team driven by a genuine love for plants and the community that surrounds them, GreenAF was created to be more than just a market. The event aims to foster connection — between people, nature, creativity, and sustainable living.
Visitors can expect a curated selection of independent plant sellers, sustainably grown houseplants, botanical art, homewares, and eco-friendly products.
Workshops, demonstrations, and interactive experiences will offer opportunities to learn new skills, discover rare plants, and engage with experts in horticulture and sustainable design.
“GreenAF was born from our passion for plants and the incredible community that grows around them,” say the organisers. “We wanted to create a space where everyone — from seasoned collectors to curious beginners — can connect, learn, and feel inspired.”
The event places a strong emphasis on sustainability, supporting growers and businesses committed to ethical practices and environmentally responsible production. By showcasing independent brands and local creators, GreenAF hopes to encourage more conscious consumption and celebrate the role plants play in wellbeing and everyday life.
Set against the lively backdrop of ThePitt — known for its street-food atmosphere and community events — the festival promises a welcoming environment where visitors can browse, learn, eat, and relax among lush greenery.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
