Queen of the Big Reveal Dorothy Koomson’s ThrillFest is going on tour! Join us on Wednesday 11 March at 7pm, to celebrate the publication of Dorothy’s explosive new thriller, The Quiet Girls.

Founded by bestselling author Dorothy Koomson, ThrillFest celebrates and champions women crime writers, shining a spotlight on the essential contributions they make to the crime-thriller genre. In this special pop-up edition of ThrillFest at Waterstones West End, Dorothy will be in conversation with fellow bestselling author Denise Mina, author of The Good Liar.

Dorothy Koomson is an award-winning, global bestselling author of 22 novels, commonly known as the ‘Queen of the Big Reveal’ for her powerful, thought-provoking, and compelling thrillers. Her books include The Ice Cream Girls and My Best Friend's Girl and have connected with readers all over the world, with sales of over 2.5 million copies in the UK alone. Dorothy featured on the 2021 Powerlist as one of the most influential Black people in Britain, appeared in GQ Style as a Black British trailblazer, and was a judge for the 2022 Women’s Prize for Fiction. 2023 marked Dorothy’s 20th anniversary as a published author. The Quiet Girls is Dorothy’s 23rd book and is published on the 12th March 2026.

Denise is the bestselling author of the Garnethill trilogy, the Paddy Meehan series and the Alex Morrow series, as well as historical novels Rizzio, Three Fires and The Second Murderer, a Philip Marlowe novel for the Chandler estate. She has won the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year Award twice, the McIlvanney Prize for Scottish Crime Book of the Year twice, the Gordon Burn Prize and was inducted into the Crime Writers’ Association Hall of Fame in 2014. THE GOOD LIAR is her twentieth novel.
