Train in Indian Head Massage in Edinburgh with an experienced tutor who has been delivering professional massage training across Edinburgh and the Lothians for over twenty years. This two day accredited course is suitable for complete beginners as well as qualified therapists wishing to expand their treatment offering.
No previous massage experience is required. The course is highly practical and structured to build confidence step by step. It also provides an excellent progression route into Swedish Massage training and other complementary therapy qualifications.
Over the two days, you will be guided through a full Indian Head Massage routine covering the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp, upper arms and face. The treatment is delivered with the client seated and fully clothed, making it ideal for salons, mobile therapists, workplace wellbeing days, community events and pamper gatherings.
Each technique is clearly demonstrated before you practise under supervision. Learning is broken down into manageable sections so you can develop competence in posture, hand positioning and flow before performing the complete treatment sequence. Strong emphasis is placed on therapist body mechanics and self care to prevent strain or injury and to support long term career sustainability.
During the course you will both give and receive treatments, allowing you to experience the therapeutic benefits yourself while refining your technique.
After attending the two day training, you will complete ten case studies at home. Each case study client must receive a minimum of two treatments. This consolidation phase strengthens practical skill, builds professional confidence and prepares you for assessment. Approximately eight to ten weeks later, you will return for a practical examination where you will perform a full Indian Head Massage treatment without notes. This ensures you are fully prepared to practise professionally.
The course is accredited by the Complementary Medical Association. Upon successful completion of training, case studies and assessment, you will receive an accredited certificate in Indian Head Massage.
Indian Head Massage remains one of the most versatile and in demand complementary therapies. It can be offered as a full one hour treatment or adapted into shorter twenty to thirty minute sessions. Guidance on structuring both options is included within the course.
If you are based in Edinburgh or Central Scotland and are looking to train in a supportive, professional learning environment, this accredited Indian Head Massage course offers a strong foundation for personal development or a new career pathway in wellbeing.
