February Half-Term at Dynamic Earth

About February Half-Term at Dynamic Earth

You’ll take a journey through time and space in our interactive galleries, exploring the evolution of our planet and the biomes of our current Earth. Experience an earth-shaking volcano, deep dive into the world’s oceans, and feel the icy chill of the polar regions when you come face to face with a real iceberg.

Enjoy brand new shows in our Planetarium: from interactive dome films to presenter-led stargazing! Plus, settle in for a family favourite film at 10am on selected dates for a cinema experience that’s out-of-this-world.

INTERACTIVE GALLERIES
Our immersive, interactive and impactful visitor experience takes you on a journey through the story of our extraordinary planet. Feel the chill of a towering iceberg, travel aboard our spacecraft to witness the Big Bang, and explore Earth’s formation. Then, journey from the Arctic to the Equator in our fully immersive 4Dventure. There’s more to explore at Edinburgh’s Science Centre and Planetarium.

PLANETARIUM SHOW: THE STELLARS
From 7th-22nd February, join three friends from a distant solar system on an unforgettable adventure through space in our Planetarium! Work together with the Stellars as you discover what plants need to survive on Earth and race against time to save their precious forest.

This show combines science, storytelling and fun, making it ideal for curious minds!

PRESENTER-LED PLANETARIUM SHOW: AI AND THE SKY
From 14th February, we’ll be diving into some of the ways AI is being used to help understand the cosmos. It’s a BIG Universe out there and, as new instruments, surveys and space missions bring back ever larger amounts of pictures, data and questions, we’re going to need all the help we can get!

FEBRUARY FAMILY FILMS
Experience your favourite family film like never before in our Planetarium! Start your day off with adventure with a movie under the stars at 10am on selected days in February. Enjoy Ice Age, Finding Nemo, A Minecraft Movie and Inside Out!
