The Raft of the Crab is a bold and deeply human new performance by the witty and charming circus artist Ninon Noiret, exploring her experience of being diagnosed with, and recovering from cancer in 2018.
A powerful and surprisingly funny reflection on the intensely personal nature of illness – and what it truly takes to heal.
Created in collaboration with celebrated Scottish puppeteer Gavin Glover, the show seamlessly blends puppetry, contemporary dance, spoken text and Chinese pole, Ninon and her alter egos navigate the highs and lows of their shared odyssey.
Following a hugely popular appearance at Manipulate Festival’s 2023 Snapshots, we’re thrilled to present the World Premiere of The Raft of the Crab – a show that is as warm, witty, and charming as its creator. A genre-defying journey through pain, perseverance and play, told with rare honesty and theatrical imagination.
Produced in association with the Beacon Arts Centre.
