Bring the GIANTS of the past to the future in drawing, painting and sculpture.
Inspired by the National Museums of Scotland exhibition, of the same name, expect to explore what it means and meant to be BIG. Find out how to suggest HUGE shapes in small formats and why the COLOSSAL creatures of 66 million years ago influenced myths, legends, folklore and some of our favourite movies. Build your very own sculpture from sketches created at a visit to the museum exhibition and use your MAMMOTH creativity to fill the week with a MASSIVE array of artwork.
Suitable for ages 8-15. Depending on numbers students will be split into 2 groups each providing age specific activities under the theme.
Classes run from 10am - 3pm with a break for lunch. All materials are included as well as snacks and drinks and admission to the gallery. Please bring your bus passes or change for the bus.
Students should bring a packed lunch which (weather permitting) can be taken in Harrison Park.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
