Try an Outdoor Escape Room this Christmas

About Try an Outdoor Escape Room this Christmas

A body has been discovered in The Cowgate with wounds eerily reminiscent of a dark period of Edinburgh’s past… Beside the corpse, a satchel - deliberately placed, an ominous message within….

The path ahead descends through Edinburgh’s darkest history. Discover the identity of their next victim. Save them — if you can…

Part walking tour, part scavenger hunt but with physical props and plenty of escape room puzzles - our City Trails are outdoor escape rooms that are a perfect summer activity for families and friends - whether you’re local or just visiting Edinburgh.

Follow a tale from Edinburgh's fascinating history as you journey through the very sites and locations where it all took place! But you're no mere passengers, your group will have to find clues, solve riddles and uncover the secrets hidden in plain sight!

Expertly researched and crafted by award winning escape room company Escape The Past, our City Trails combine technology with real locks, props and puzzles to create a fun, engaging experience that lets you discover the city in a whole new way.

Suitable for groups of 2-30 people, 'A Trail of Burke & Hare’ starts and ends at our central Edinburgh location and takes about 2 hours to complete. Race through to the finish or make a day of it - taking the trail at your own pace and stopping for lunch en-route.
