On the occasion of the 10th Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation through the network of Consulates and Italian Institutes of Culture in the World, the city of Edinburgh celebrates Sicily, European Region of Gastronomy 2025, with events dedicated to the cultural and sensory story of the Mediterranean and in support of the candidacy of the Italian Cuisine as UNESCO intangible cultural heritage.
Join us at the Italian Institute of Culture in Edinburgh on Thursday, 27th November 2025 at 13:30 for the talk “La Sicilia da vivere con Gusto”: a dialogue with the protagonists of the Sicilian eno-gastronomic scene on the value of territories that become legendary, between experiential tourism, Mediterranean longevity, the sea, and wine culture.
A guided tasting of sweet treats, olive oils wines with the chef Sabrina Damiani and the journalist and sommelier Maria Antonietta Pioppo will follow, in a convivial atmosphere of closure and friendship.
“La Sicilia da vivere con Gusto” is more than an event: it is a narrative of cultural diplomacy that intertwines food and wine, literature, and tourism. Cooking becomes a language of memory and hospitality, the table a stage for relationships.
Booking required: please email eventi.iicedimburgo@esteri.it with the full names of all the guests in your party.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
