Leith Creative Trail 2025

This winter, the streets of Leith come alive with creativity as Edinburgh Open Workshop coordinates the return of the Leith Creative Trail.

Leith Creative Trail 2025

About Leith Creative Trail 2025

Leith Creative Trail is a celebration of Leith’s vibrant artistic spirit, featuring markets, open studios, exhibitions, workshops, talks, and pop-up events across the neighbourhood.

From Saturday 29th November to Saturday 7th December, visitors are invited to explore a dynamic trail of 20 creative venues, from hidden studios to local institutions, each brimming with imagination, skill, and community energy. The Leith Creative Trail brings together artists, makers, and creative businesses to showcase the rich cultural tapestry that makes Leith one of Scotland’s most exciting creative hubs.

As the festive season approaches, the Trail offers the perfect alternative to the bustle of high street shopping. Step off the beaten path and discover unique, handmade gifts created by Leith’s talented community of artists and makers - from ceramics, textiles and prints to jewellery, homewares and one-of-a-kind artworks. Whether you’re hunting for the perfect stocking filler or a meaningful keepsake, shopping local on the Leith Creative Trail means supporting independent businesses and finding gifts with real heart and story behind them.

Whether you’re a local, an art lover, or simply curious, the Trail offers the perfect opportunity to wander, explore, and support Leith’s creative community. Visitors are encouraged to “bag as many venues as possible”, meeting artists, browsing handmade goods, and enjoying the buzz of this week-long celebration.

To help visitors navigate, a beautifully illustrated map and directory - designed by Cat Gordon Illustrations and Zoe Brown Art - highlights all participating venues. These are available in print from venues along the trail, or can be downloaded from the Edinburgh Open Workshop website HERE
