Want to spend the day as an apprentice in a Renaissance workshop? Gain an insight into the drawing techniques and principles used by Renaissance masters and put them into practice, working directly from a life model.
You will receive tuition from professional artist Hayley Whittingham, in the form of demonstrations, close analysis of the work of Raphael, and one-to-one guidance. We will warm up with some shorter, dynamic poses, focussed on capturing the proportions, movement and weight of the figure. This will be followed by a longer sustained study, exploring the Renaissance techniques of shading to describe form and anatomy.
The workshop is aimed at those with some drawing experience, who may want to try life drawing for the first time or build upon existing skills using traditional methods. It is also suited to those who want to gain a greater appreciation for renaissance works of art in an interactive way.
The class will be hosted on our spectacular Viewing Balcony.
