The Festival will once again host a day of free pop-up performances and artist interventions for families in the beautiful settings of the National Museum of Scotland – an ideal way to get creative and experience exciting new ideas from local artists. The programme will also feature two new commissions in partnership with Merchant City Festival.
Drop-in activities will include:
Walk-about characters
Dance and Chinese pole performances
Musical explorations
Hands-on arts activities
And more...
This year, as part of our new Creative Encounters project, children from Forthview Primary in Edinburgh have commissioned artist Cynthia Cheung to co-create a new performance which will be presented during the day. Cynthia’s performance of Hat, Hat, Hat will give a central role to the children’s ideas, interests and views. The children have been involved from shortlisting and commissioning to the creation of this new professional performance, testing new grounds for collaboration between children and adults. The project is supported by Baillie Gifford, Arts & Business Culture & Business Fund Scotland and the PLaCE fund.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
