Combatting Scotland’s Regional Climate Change Challenges

About Combatting Scotland’s Regional Climate Change Challenges

Scotland is vulnerable to the effects of climate change, yet its impacts will look and feel different depending on where you are. From eroding coastlines to accelerated deterioration of infrastructure, Scotland will need a multi-faceted and regional approach to making its places resilient in the face of a changing climate.

Join our panel of experts as they present different case studies of regional climate challenges. Including the issues of food equity, coastal erosion, and road and rail distributions, suggesting solutions to tackle them in the future to deal with the many and varied impacts of climate challenges that we face in Scotland.

The panel includes: Professor Lorna Dawson FRSE, Head of Forensic Soil Science, The James Hutton Institute; Professor Fiona Burnett FRSB, Head of KE and Impact and Professor in Applied Plant Pathology, SRUC; Professor Des Thompson FRSE, Principal Adviser on Biodiversity and Science, NatureScot; Professor Michael C.R. Davies FRSE, Professor Emeritus, University of Sussex; and Professor Roger Crofts FRSE.

This event is part of our RSE investigates... climate change series and our regional strategic approach.
