About This River

This River is an interdisciplinary solo performance by Laura Hope Steckler about the journey of aging, and the joys, sorrows and surprises therein. It is at once poignant, challenging, edgy, lyrical and suitable for adult audiences.

Laura is an American performing-artist based in Scotland. Her performances evolve from the integration of eastern and western practices and the application of new technology with devised text and movement. She combines ritual, character and performative installation to weave stories from the interior of the body.

This performance will be followed by an audience Q&A session

Choreography text & performance: Laura Hope Steckler
Videography: Ruth Barrie Direction: Angus Balbernie

The development of this piece has been generously supported by DanceBase and Creative Scotland.
