Tommy Smith is one of the world's leading saxophonists, having worked with many jazz greats such as Gary Burton, Chick Corea, Jaco Pastorius, John Scofield, Randy Brecker and Jack DeJohnette - and recorded for the definitive Blue Note jazz label. Founding director of the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra and leader of the internationally-admired jazz course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where he is a professor, he also tours the world as part of the Arild Andersen Trio, who record for the ECM record label.
Smith's solo acoustic concerts feature spontaneously chosen melodies, and highlight his wonderful tone production and consummate improvising capabilities.
