Edinburgh’s newest contemporary art gallery, Colinton Arts, is pleased to announce the opening of their Winter Exhibition on Friday 19th November 2021 with a private view Thursday 18th November 2021.
The Winter Exhibition showcases 20 Scottish contemporary artists with a mix of paintings, glass, ceramics and sculpture. The gallery has curated a broad range of pieces from the immersive, kinetic coastlines of Gill Knight to the luminous landscapes of Nichol Wheatley.
The exhibition will also feature a world exclusive, a limited edition Giclée print run of ‘Taboo’ by Edwin G Lucas. One of Scotland’s premier surrealists, Lucas has been exhibited alongside Picasso, Dali and Miro. This is the first time any of Lucas’ works has been available as a full-size print.
Colinton Arts is a contemporary art gallery showing work by international established artists and giving early career artists the chance to exhibit in a professional space and develop their practice. The themes from the opening exhibition People, Places, Perspectives inform the remit for gallery curation. Colinton Arts engages and collaborates with the artists to discover who they are as makers, the influence of place on their practice and how their perspective - both literal and learned - influences them.
