About Book Week Scotland: Celebrating Others with Bashabi Fraser and Vibha Pankaj

Join Bashabi Fraser and Vibha Pankaj for a special Book Week Scotland event celebrating their recent collection of evocative poetry and artwork, Patient Dignity.

Scotland Street Press is delighted to be a part of Book Week Scotland again, returning to live in-person book events this year.

Created in part as a reflection on the Covid-19 pandemic, Patient Dignity was born out of a unique collaboration between Fraser and Pankaj. They will discuss this process, as well as the celebration of diversity, culture and transnational identity which the collection represents. Bringing together poetry, art and pertinent discussion, they draw astute and often surprising comparisons between India and Scotland.

Following the discussion and answering your questions, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy refreshments and a display of original art works by Pankaj.

About Bashabi Fraser:
Bashabi Fraser CBE is an award-winning poet, children’s author, editor and one of Saltire Society’s ‘Outstanding Women of Scotland’. Fraser’s work traverses continents as she writes about Scotland and India.

About Vibha Pankaj:
Dr Vibha Pankaj is a noted artist, born in India and living in Edinburgh for the last 20 years. Her art reflects the landscapes of her feelings and memories, from the Himalayas to Scottish hills.

The event will be held at 6pm on Friday 19th November at St. Vincent's Chapel on St. Stephen Street. It has been organised in partnership with Golden Hare Books and Book Week Scotland.

Tickets are £5 or free with a purchase of the book from Golden Hare. Secure your place now.
