We offer animation and filmmaking workshops that allow participants to use their creativity to tell their own story.
If you are ages 12-18 and interested in learning animation get signed up for this 5 week course and learn all about the 12 Principles of Animation - the foundation of all animation. Using both traditional and digital techniques we will learn and discover these important skills for animation first invented by Disney animators in the 30s.
What skills will participants learn?
Each week participants will digital animation skills and work with drawing digitally and working with cameras which is perfect for digital literacy and creativity development. Completing this course will create a diverse body of work showcasing a range of animated skills. The 12 Principles will be broken down throughout the 5 weeks. As well as fundamental animation skills, these courses will develop soft skills like teamwork, communication and confidence.
What do you need to bring?
We will provide all the equipment, materials, experience and animation know how - you bring the creativity. Please be advised that this workshop may use physical materials such as plasticine, clay, and sand. We would advise participants wear old clothes.
The workshops will run every Saturday for 5 weeks at St Margaret’s House, Edinburgh. Starting on the 6th November at 12:30pm and finishing 4th December. Each session will run for 3 hours.
Growth Workshops are run by professional animators and filmmakers with a lot of experience working with a diverse range of young people of all ages. We are committed in cultivating a safe space to learn and create in and that is why as a studio we ensure all delivery staff are covered by the PVG Disclosure Scotland scheme.
