On the Friday evening there will be talks and presentations from Rebecca Smith, whose children’s book, Shadow Cat Summer is set in the Highlands, Yvonne Hendrie, whose novel The Water Bailiff’s Daughter, set in the Lowlands is gaining traction, and a guest spot, by accomplished poet Bob Beagrie who is based in Northumberland’s Teesside University.
£5 entry becomes £5 worth of vouchers for books on Saturday. This event will also be livestreamed on Stairwell Book’s YouTube and Facebook.
On the Saturday, Stairwell has invited a number of Scottish and Northern publishers to share our free festival with tables of their own books. This is a great opportunity for readers to see and buy a range of excellent books which may not grace the shelves of the large retail bookselling chains, and to chat with publishers and authors in a relaxed setting. About 10 authors will give readings on Saturday.
We’ll have children’s books, YA and literary fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and sci-fi fantasy to choose from.
Join us! This will be a great Saturday out for the family!
