The Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh and Pitlochry Festival Theatre present a new play (title TBA) by Roy Williams in association with Naked Productions Ltd.
We are delighted that the penultimate Sound Stage play this season will be a brand new play by one of the UK’s leading dramatists Roy Williams.
Roy Williams began writing plays in 1990 and is now arguably one of the country's leading dramatists, awarded the OBE for Services to Drama in the 2008 Birthday Honours List and made a fellow of The Royal Society of Literature in 2018.
His most recent play Death of England: Delroy reopened the National Theatres Olivier stage following the last lockdown and his play Sucker Punch was recently heralded as one of the best 50 plays of the 21st century by The London Evening Standard. His many other notable works for the stage include The Firm, Soul: The untold story of Marvin Gaye, Days of Significance, Angel House, Fallout, Sing Yer Heart out for the Lads, Clubland, The Gift, Starstruck and The No-Boys Cricket Club.
Sound Stage is a new audio-digital platform offering audiences the chance to have an ‘at home theatre experience’ designed by theatre makers and leading audio digital technologists. Soak in the virtual theatre atmosphere, mingle with other theatre-goers, bring your drinks and chatter in a virtual bar; arrange to meet a friend from anywhere in the world! There will be a call bell to take your 'seats', and post-show talks too. We'll meet you there!
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
