Kathak classes are on Wednesdays from 6pm - 7pm
Venue: Granton Parish Church, 55 Boswell Parkway, Edinburgh EH5 2DA
KATHAK is a North Indian classical dance form that embodies a tradition of storytelling. While the Kathakars of the ancient era were wanderers who went around performing and telling stories from the sacred legends, folklores & mythology of India, modern-day Kathak is known for its graceful movements, the stunning pirouettes, intricate footwork and soulful, expressive, movement-based storytelling.
The classes are taught by Nandini and Himadri from Agnya Movement. "There are multiple schools or styles of Kathak, and we hold our training from the Jaipur and Lucknow traditions close. But what we resonate with most, and therefore pass on to our students, is the experience of Kathak as a form of poetry in motion."
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
