Kids Funky Wonky Crochet Sculpture - 5 week holiday course

About Kids Funky Wonky Crochet Sculpture - 5 week holiday course

Crochet a playful sculpture or a collection of tactile shapes over the holidays! Keep busy over the holidays and learn something new! All materials included & posted prior to class.

During 5-weekly sessions over the summer holidays, your child (aged 6-12 years) will learn all the basics of crochet; chain and double stitch, as well as shaping; increasing and decreasing, to enable your child to explore 3-dimensional geometric shapes through this traditional craft.

This course is designed to allow imagination to run freely, crocheting in a playful manner, to create a collection of tactile, sensory objects that can be used to create a 3-dimensional composition whilst exploring a variety of materials.

Materials are included in the price of the course and will be posted prior to the the commence of the course (UK only - please do get in touch if outside the UK).

The material kit includes a crochet hook and 6 colourful balls of 100% wool yarn. To complement these materials, we will also create further shapes using cut-up second hand clothing and perhaps even coffee bags, to explore and play with a rich variety of materials available at our fingertips that can add depth and texture to your sculpture! Your child will be expected to bring stuffing for filling these shapes - this can be anything from plastic bags to cut up bits of old clothes and we'll chat through this during the classes.

The sessions will be run online on Wednesdays for 1 hour starting from the 14th of July 2021.

At the end of each session, your child will be equipped with video material, to continue with the project between the classes, and at the end of the 5 week course, your child will receive an invite for an extra class on photographing your Funky Wonky Crochet Sculpture.
