With his technical brilliance and dazzling new insights, Dutch fortepianist Ronald Brautigam made an impression at his 2018 International Festival solo recital, performing Mendelssohn and Chopin as the composers themselves would have heard their music.
He makes a much-anticipated return in the company of two esteemed friends and colleagues, both of them international soloists in their own rights. Swiss violinist Esther Hoppe is one of today’s most exciting young players, while her compatriot Christian Poltéra has a global reputation for his perceptive, commanding playing. Together, they bring a similar clarity, freshness and authenticity to two Romantic classics by exceptional musical siblings.
Mendelssohn’s passionate D minor Piano Trio has been adored since it was first unveiled, and almost makes a concerto soloist of its pianist in spectacular keyboard writing. The exuberant Piano Trio by his sister Fanny is just as compelling. Discover this music on a grand scale.
