This Northumbrian folk collective is fronted by sisters Rachel and Becky Unthank. Their work focuses on traditional English folk styles, using them as a springboard for experimenting with a wide range of genres over ten albums. Defining themselves as having 'restless eccentricity', since forming in 2004 their music has evolved into exploring covers of songs by Robert Wyatt or Antony & the Johnsons, creating documentary film scores and collaborating with a brass band and symphony orchestra.
Their live shows, whether in the back of a pub or a much larger festival setting, are always warm and intimate, playing around with rich, soaring harmonies and bringing oral histories to life. They have collaborated in the past with Damon Albarn, Orbital, Martin Hayes and Joan as Policewoman, been nominated for the Mercury Prize and can count Rosanne Cash, Elvis Costello, Colin Firth and Dawn French amongst their many fans.
Location: Edinburgh Park, Lochside Way, Edinburgh, EH12 9GG
