The much-loved indie rockers from Whitburn, West Lothian, formed a band six years ago while still at school and have gained a loyal fanbase with their sweaty, energetic live shows. Their irreverent, fun-loving performances celebrate elements of Scottish Ned culture, including Scotland’s much-loved tonic wine, Buckfast.
This year’s anthemic debut album W.L. hit number one in the UK charts and drew glowing comparisons to The Libertines and The Arctic Monkeys. Many of the tracks were written a decade ago, when they were growing up. The boys have also got a big heart; they took the money that their record label Parlophone gave them to make a music video, donated it to the Scottish Refugee Council and filmed the video for Somebody Loves You entirely on mobile phones instead.
