Two dates available - 9th or 16th July
A hair scrunchie is an easy sewing project for children. It's fun to do and is an ideal sewing project for further practice once they've learned how to use a sewing machine. What's more, these are upcycled from used clothes to save the planet.
Who is this aimed at?
Children aged 8-15 years old. Children must have already taken the Kids 'Learn to sew' class
What will my child learn?
Marking, cutting and sewing fabric
inserting elastic
The hair scrunchies are upcycled from a blouse or shirt. They have an optional Bunny-ear' bow. Please supply an unwanted garment (any size). A pillowcase is perfect too.
Sewing is an ideal creative activity for children. It develops their manual dexterity, hand/eye co-ordination, and encourages focus and concentration. Plus it gives them a huge sense of achievement and self-worth.
Course arrangements:
All equipment and materials are provided, including sewing machines. In all the childrens' sewing classes, numbers are limited so each child receive lots of attention and can be carefully supervised.
Artisan Stitch holds a Certificate of Excellence and is rated Best sewing classes in Edinburgh.
Children must be able to place their feet flat on the floor when sitting in a chair that's 45cm off the floor. If they cannot, then they will not be able to operate the sewing machine safely and for their own safety, will not be able to take the class.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
